Meet New Horizon's Management Inc's CEO, Kathy Hanrahan

Kathy Hanrahan, a private management consultant for her own company, New Horizons Management Consulting Inc. (June 2010 to present) specializes in assisting small private companies as they prepare strategies, financial plans, personnel and infrastructure for their next phase of growth. 


Kathy has defined herself as a cost accounting professional who has developed skills enabling her to bridge the gap between financial metrics and human performance.   This blend of experience coupled with her ability to mentor and coach young entrepreneurs has been a recipe for success as a high level executive, a board member, and as a valued advisor for her clients.

Since the creation of her company in 2010, Hanrahan has offered her expertise through interim executive positions for her clients.  This includes a current four-year support role as CFO with Guardian 8 Holdings, Inc. (OTCQB: GRDH), and a prior one-year engagement with LifeLock, Inc. (NYSE: LOCK).    In May of 2013, she also accepted a short-term position with an Arizona based medical device company, serving as the President and Chief Operations/Financial Officer. 


Prior to founding New Horizons, Kathy was employed by TASER International Inc. (January 1996 through June 2010) in a number of key executive positions.  These included, in order from her hire: Controller (1996 – 2000), Chief Financial Officer (2000 – 2004)taking the Company public on the NASDAQ stock exchange in 2001, Chief Operations Officer (2003 – 2006) and President and Chief Operating Officer (2006 – 2008).   Her last position with the organization was as the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Chairperson for the TASER Foundation for Fallen Officers (2008 – 2010).  The Foundation was an independent 501.c.3 created by TASER to support the families of officers killed in the line of duty. 

Before joining TASER International, Kathy served as the Director of Administrative Services and Controller for a privately held aerospace and defense contractor (1989 – 1995) where she utilized her financial management skills, as well as directed the areas of human resources, training and operational functions.  She accepted this position after leaving the role of Office Manager for a top tier electrical contractor (1984 – 1988) where she met her husband of almost 25 years. 


In addition to her consulting practice, Kathy serves or has served as a Director for a number of organizations, in both the profit and non-profit sectors.  Positions include:
